FEMME INK

Finding your voice, one story at a time.

Femme Ink is a reflective writing space exploring the identity shift of motherhood — the grief, the growth, and the quiet moments in between. Born out of my own search for self after becoming a mother, it's a place to tell the truth about what breaks us, what heals us, and how we begin to find our way back to ourselves.

Here, I write about matrescence — and all the parts of life it touches: self, body, mind, work, family, partnership, friendship, and your village.

If you’ve ever asked “Who even am I now?” — this space is for you.

  • The Warning I Never Got

Becoming a mother broke me. Not in sadness — but in identity. After my first child was born, I wasn’t just exhausted. I was unrecognisable — to others, and to myself. I had no idea who I was. I wasn’t sad, exactly. I wasn’t depressed. But I felt broken.

  • What If You Don't Have A Village?

We talk about villages as if they’re guaranteed: families, neighbours, familiar hands reaching in. But what happens when the village you imagined isn’t the one you actually have? This week I’m writing about the shame, relief and empowerment of building my own village from scratch.
